How to Wipe a Partition?

What is Disk Wiper?

Disk Wiper in “Privacy & Security” is a powerful tool to wipe data with simple operations. In fact, the data of most deleted files still remains on the hard disk though you cannot see them. What’s more, the data can be recovered by some specific tools. How to prevent others from recovering your sensitive files? With Disk Wiper, you needn’t worry any more. You can use it to wipe your hard disk or partition completely clean beyond recovery.

Disk Wiper supports most external devices in common use, you are able to not only wipe the data of the local disk, but also that on the removable disk, USB flash disk without any other third-party’s technical support, as long as your computer hardware supports these external devices.

When should you use Disk Wiper?

Procedure of wiping the partition

  1. The Disk Wiper runs while your computer booted from the Spotmau CD. You will have the interface looked just like the following picture. Choose the first item “Spotmau Standard Mode (Recommended)”

2  When PowerSuite 2009 is booting your system, please be patient and wait for several minutes.

3  When the booting is finished, you will see an interface as followed:

4   Follow these steps: Self Service —> PowerSuite 2009 Wincare –> Privacy & Security –> Disk Wiper

5.  A “Disk Wiper” window will be shown as followed:

6.  Disk Wiper provides you with two functions: to wipe a whole hard disk and to wipe a partition.

7  Wipe A Hard Disk: click  to begin.

8  Select the disk you want to wipe:

you can view all the disks connected to your PC by clicking the reverse triangle.


9.  Sequentially, you shall select the intended partition.

10.  Click  to go on. And you will see the following dialog.

11.  When the operation is undertaken, the progress indicator will let you know how much time remains.

12.  When you see this dialog, the whole process is done.

13.  And at the end you will be asked to choose whether to format the wiped partition.

Notes:

Please do not use this tool until you want to permanently delete your data for some special reasons such as reselling or donating your computer.
