How to transfer data when I cannot enter Windows?

What is Data Transfer?

Data Transfer in “Data Rescue” tool can help you remove your important data from the local disk to other media storage fast and safely. In the case where you cannot enter your Windows, Data Transfer can transfer your files to extended devices such as the second internal hard disk, removable disk (such as USB devices, IEEE1394 devices, Flash storage etc.), etc. When your computer gets corrupted and you cannot access to the operating system,you can transfer important data to other partitions on the local disk or to the external disk. The operations are simple, convenient and flexible. Data Transfer can be used when you need to reinstall your OS or replace the disk.

When should you use Data Transfer?

 Procedure of Transferring Data:

  1. The Data Transfer runs while your computer booted from the Spotmau CD. You will have the interface looked just like the following picture. Choose the first item “Spotmau Standard Mode (Recommended)”

2.  When PowerSuite 2009 is booting your system, please be patient and wait for several minutes. 

3.  When the booting is finished, you will see an interface as followed:


 

4.  Follow these steps: Self Service —> PowerSuite 2009 Bootcare –>Data Rescue –> Data transfer:

5.  A window will pop up:

6.  Source selection. To select a directory or file, please left-click it. For multi items that are not located next to each other, please press and hold Ctrl and click the items you want to select; for those items located next to each other, please press and hold Shift, and left click the items you want to select; to select all, please click “Select All ” button. Double-click a directory to access the subordinate directory.

7.  To return upper directory, please double-click “ ” , press Backspace or click upward icon .

8.  Destination selection. Finish the step above, now you can select the destination path in the dialog box. The drop-down list box — – provides different partitions on the local disk, click one. Then select the directory you want in listed files. It implies that the data will be transferred to this specific directory later.

9.  You can also create a new folder by clicking . please name the new folder here. Meanwhile, the textbox right beside Path automatically shows the full destination path to you.
 

10.  When you finish the last two steps, please click .

11.  The following dialog will confirm whether you want to continue the operation or not.

12.  When the data is on transfer, you will see the following window:

13.  If the data has been transferred successfully, you can see a new folder named with the time when Data Transfer tool created it. The whole process is finished.
