How to backup incremental data?

 What is Incremental Folder Backup?

Incremental Folder Backup can help you backup newly-added files and the files that have been modified since the last full backup. All This can be done automatically and periodically according to your schedule. You can have more settings, including Backup Speed (Fast or normal) and the type of Split Image File. What’s more, you can restore one or more files from the backup files.

 When do you use Incremental Folder Backup?

Provided that you need to save some important information that has been recently modified, you have to examine them one by one and then back up. However, it’s time-consuming and troublesome to backup these data yourself. Therefore, one of Spotmau PowerSuite 2009’s highly recommended tools—- Incremental Folder Backup, can relieve you from such troubles.

 Procedure of dealing with Incremental Folder Backup:

 1.  Click the Folder Backupbutton on the interface of Spotmau PowerSuite 2009 and you will see the following pop-up window:

 

2.       Select a backup type

Choose the Incremental Backup type: Incremental Backup (This step is base on your previous backed up file. Only modified or added files are backed up. It will save you a lot of time.)

   

3.       Select the target folder

Choose the folder(s) in which you want to backup the file(s) and click “Browse”.

   

4.       Set the Backup Time and click Enable

1  Automatism: Enable the clocked automatic backup. You can set the backup time in the drop-down list. Also, enter the Windows account and password to enable it.

2  Turn off Automatism: Disable clocked automatic backup.

   

3  If Scheduled Backup is added successfully, you will see:

You can set the Backup Speed (Fast or normal) and the type of Split Image File.

  

6.       Shutdown when finished

If you want to shutdown the page when it’s finished, click the button.

   

7.       Backup finished

If the following window is shown, backup is finished.

Incremental backup saves all the files that have been modified since the last full backup. The biggest advantage of an incremental backup is that it saves a lot of time when backing up large amounts of data. Incremental backup provides a much faster way of backing up your data than continuously doing full backups which takes much longer time and tends to be repeating a huge percentage of the same files each time.
